The Thoracic Oncology DMG is a specialized multidisciplinary group, treating a wide variety of lung, esophageal, chest wall and mediastinal tumors.

Specific unique strengths of the DMG include :
  1. Largest thoracoscopic surgery programme.
  2. Increasing number of complex thoracic surgical procedures including the surgical treatment of tracheo-bronchial tumors, advanced mediastinal and chest wall tumors.
  3. Management of complex airway problems including tracheobronchial stenting and laser therapy.
  4. Evidence Based Management of advanced lung and esophageal cancers with molecular-based personalized targeted therapy and chemotherapy.
  5. State of the art radiotherapy techniques including tomotherapy, image-guided and stereotactic body radiotherapy.


Basic Reports Required:
  1. CT Scan - A computed tomography (CT) scan uses X-rays to make detailed pictures of parts of your body and the structures inside your body.
  2. Endoscopy - A procedure in which an instrument is introduced into the body to give a view of its internal parts
  3. MRI- Diagnostic technique that uses magnetic fields and radio waves to produce a detailed image of the body's soft tissue and bones.
  4. Biopsy - An examination of tissue removed from a living body to discover the presence, cause, or extent of a disease.
  5.  Histopathology- The study of changes in tissues caused by disease.
New Patients :

 All new patients have to submit their file at counter 310.
Medical secretary then passes the file to room no 311.
Patient is then called by the jr Consultant.
Jr Consultant will evaluate the case f and advice to meet surgical oncologist.
Surgical Oncologist are seated at consultation rooms 301 and 302.
Consultant will advice to do required procedures e.g blood test,biopsies etc.
Patients are then advice to meet the consultant after the reports.
Depending on Reports the Consultant decides weather the patient  needs to go through surgery, radiation or Chemotherapy.

  
Follow up Patients :

All follow-up patients are seen on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.

Surgical Oncology: Have to submit their file at Counter 310

Medical Oncology: Have to submit their file at Counter 307

Radiation Oncology:Have to submit their file at Counter 307

Patient would be called by the ward boy once the file has reached to the required Consultant.


Billing :

Billing for consultation and all the required procedures would be done at Medical Secretary counters 310 and 307

Note: Remember to deposit cash in your smart at cash counter located at Homi Bhabha building 1st floor or Golden jubilee build 1st floor.

DO NOT GIVE HARD CASH TO ANYONE.
